Nucleus Hives from LCBA LCBA Members - Login to receive member price This Spring, we’re proud to offer 5-Frame Deep Nucleus Hives (Nucs) from Beetanical Apiary! Each Nuc includes a 2026 queen, plus 5 frames of brood and resources. The Nucs are treated for mites prior to pickup. Pickup Date: Mid to late April, but the exact date is TBA. The pickup date will be on a weekend day, in the morning, in the Cottage Grove area, rain or shine. We will notify you via email, a week previous to the pickup date. You must pick up your nuc in person on the pickup day! The pickup date is TBA. They will be available on one of the last 3 weekends of April. This is bee and weather dependent! We will notify you via email, several days prior to the pickup date. Nuc pickup is in person. If you are not present during pickup and have not made other arrangements, your nuc will be made available to the waiting list. No returns or refunds! The nucs will be inspected by the apiary 24 hours before pickup to ensure that they are queenright. Be aware that we will not accept returns or issue refunds! Be prepared to safely transport your nuc! You may want to bring a bee veil, straps to make sure it can’t shift during transport, etc. Your nuc must be installed within 24 hours! If you are unsure, go over the steps for proper installation. We will also be present during pickup for last minute questions. Your nuc needs to be fed! Some of the 5 frames included in the nuc will contain honey, but right now your bees need nectar in order to thrive! Have a inside feeder and sugar water ready to install in your hive along with the nuc. Continue to feed them for at least a month.
